Large wall art/ wall decor/wall decor for living room/arredamento casa/لوحات جدارية/wandfarbe
Raksha mask is a mask that Sri Lankans use a lot in festivals and cultural dances. Raksha means “demon” and the masks are apotropaic which means that it is intended to ward off evil. They are painted in vibrant colors, with bulging eyes and protruding tongues and they depict various types of demons.
On the head of the red mask is a large snake hood, almost covering this are three snake hoods. Some call the naga rakshaya, rathna kuta (red mask). But among different dance troupes naga Raksha (snake demon) and rathna kuta (red mask) have been differently identified and are two different masks. On inquiring into this matter, it has been found that the main snake head on the naga (snake) mask covered by three snake heads is also present in the rathna kuta (red mask). Differences can be noted in the earrings attached on both sides of the snake pictures
